Our future depends on keeping our teaching and learning spaces in excellent condition. If we do not, we risk losing our competitive edge in recruiting excellent faculty and outstanding students and falling behind other independent schools. Our plan to renovate Carey Hall and construct the new Student Academic Center honors our tradition of careful planning and creates spaces that reflect our vision for the modern Gilman, giving our boys wonderful places in which to learn and grow.

Buildings are more than just bricks and mortar: they both embody and enable our commitment to building boys in mind, body, and spirit.

Goal

$35 million for Carey Hall renovation and Student Academic Center construction

Gilman prepares you for college and for anything you want to do. You learn to think about other people. It is a very positive moral environment. I have so much confidence in the faculty and staff at Gilman to do the best they can with the resources I have provided. Gilman truly is the best school of its kind.

William Polk Carey ’48, longtime trustee and grandson of founder Anne Galbraith Carey, has given $10 million to support the renovation of Carey Hall, a key priority in this Campaign.
