This course, designed specifically for this age level, is for students with emerging interests and talents in art. Students will work on still-life and observational drawing exercises that include fun and relatable subject matter. Lessons often evolve into creative final products that will excite and motivate your young artist. A variety of media will be used such as graphite, chalk and oil pastels, watercolor, and acrylic painting. Students learn from their peers and work in an atmosphere that focuses on studio production and creative output.

This clay course is designed to give students, through guided lessons, opportunities to make wonderful clay creations as well as, provide room for personal exploration that is limited only by skill level. Each student will create 5-7 clay pieces that will be decorated with glazes and/or acrylic paints.

Having an extended day to focus on art-making will afford us opportunities to truly focus on our work. A variety of subject matter will be explored through a series of guided lessons that will utilize chalk and oil pastels, and progress to painting with acrylics on canvas. Students will learn how to make their art standout more than ever before! Students will need to bring a lunch.
