Seniors got to whet their appetites for preparing their own meals when they transition to college in a special Senior Seminar lesson. Students said it was “the best seminar of the year.”

The fourth grade held its annual African American Leadership Project (AALP) alumni panel discussion on Wednesday, March 6. This year, the panel consisted of Black alumni who work in education.
Professor Meredith Broussard, author of “More Than a Glitch: Confronting Race, Gender, and Ability Bias in Tech” spoke to the Gilman community at CIE Night on Thursday, March 7. Her talk concentrated on the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and racism.

Members of Gilman's indoor track team successfully competed at the Nike Indoor National Championships in New York City over the weekend of March 9.
With proud families and coaches present, 19 senior scholar-athletes committed to college athletics for fall 2024 on the afternoon of Friday, March 1.
They hula-ed, shot hoops, participated in service learning, raised more than $1,500 for Habitat for Humanity of the Chesapeake, and, perhaps most importantly, Gilman’s Middle School students came together on Wednesday, February 21 to take some time out for fun and tradition at the annual Hoops for Habitat.
In the summer of 2023, Neel Behari ’25 and Peter Eiswert ’25 initiated Ethics Bowl involvement at Gilman. One of the newly formed teams came in first place at the Mid-Atlantic High School Ethics Bowl held at the University of Baltimore on February 3.
“How many hours do you think we read?” she asked the Lower School student body seated in the auditorium. After taking a guess from the audience, she revealed the number: a whopping 3,592 hours!
Fresh on the heels of an undefeated regular season and their 2023-2024 MIAA A Conference Dual Meet Championship win in early February, Gilman Wrestling ended its historic season on top as the champions of the 2024 MIAA Wrestling Tournament.
