In the Middle of Things - Middle School News

Dear Middle School Parents,

Fall Play Auditions
Auditions for Harvey will be Monday, September 18, and Tuesday, September 19 from 4:15 - 5:45 PM in Gilman's Auditorium. Boys need only audition during one of the two days. Audition packets outlining student commitment and expectations are now available. Interested students should pick up an audition packet from Ms. Schumann in Room 222, which contains a list of required rehearsals, important information, and a family agreement form. If you have any questions about the auditions, please email Ms. Sabrina Schumann at sschumann@gilman.edu. Students riding Kangaroo Coach may be able to take the late bus home, depending upon the route home. Please read through the packet with your son, sign it, and then have your son return it when he auditions for cast or crew. We hope to see you all at Harvey!

Photo Day in the Middle School
Tuesday, September 19, is Photo Day in the Middle School. Photo Order forms were distributed in Homeroom this morning. All Middle Schoolers will get their photo taken for the yearbook and their student ID badge. The dress code for Photo Day is a dress shirt, tie, and blue blazer. Boys may come to school in regular dress code but will need to change for their picture. Please make sure to write your son's name in his blue blazer. You may also use the attached photo order form and return it to school with your payment on Photo Day.

Spring Break Trip Opportunity for Eighth Graders
Gilman is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for our eighth grade students. We invite eighth graders to join us for a trip to Cuba over spring break this March! It is our belief that educational travel brings classroom lessons to life, broadens student horizons, and inspires curiosity for learning. The purpose of this trip is to introduce students to the culture, history, natural resources, art, music, food, and language of Cuba, and enjoy an unforgettable experience with Gilman teacher chaperones and your classmates.

We will be holding a meeting on Tuesday, September 19, at 7:00 PM in the Middle School for any interested families. Please contact Ms. Jill Anthony with any questions. She may be reached at janthony@gilman.edu. If you are planning to attend the interest meeting, please RSVP to Ms. Anthony via email or the following GoogleForms link: https://goo.gl/forms/M3Ohvuj4K8uXfVRu1
