Tuition Payment FAQ

How does Gilman collect and process tuition payments?

We are partnered with the FACTS Management Company to collect and process tuition. FACTS is an automated payment system. What this means is that parents preauthorize their bank or credit card company to automatically transfer funds to Gilman on the payment dates traditional to the school. Preauthorized automated payments can be done conveniently from one’s checking or savings account, or by way of MasterCard, Discover, or American Express (Visa does not participate at this time). Charges for incidentals and the Hound Depot will be sent directly to you.

What are my payment options?

All tuition/fees must be paid by one of the following options:

  1. Pay 100% of the tuition/fees directly to the school in cash, check, or money order by July 31, 2012.
  2. Pay in two installments, July 2012 (65%) and November 2012 (35%), via FACTS from your checking, savings or credit card account. There is no fee for paying in two installments.
  3. Pay in 10 monthly installments, starting in July 2012 and ending in April 2013, via FACTS from your checking or savings account. The payments dates are the 5th or the 20th of the month—your choice. The FACTS fee for this plan is $41 per year per family.*If paying by bank account, only routing and account number information are required.
  4. Do any of the above by way of MasterCard, Discover or American Express. Please note that there is a convenience fee (2.5%) in addition to any FACTS fee, associated with this credit card option only.
Families already enrolled in the FACTS program will be AUTOMATICALLY enrolled for the 2012/2013 school year.
Each family will receive an email confirmation from FACTS when the enrollment is complete. The email will include the payment dates and amounts. Note: Please complete ONE agreement per family.The person “Responsible for Payment” is the one who gives his/her financial information for tuition payment.

What is the FACTS family portal?

Now that you have set up your online payment plan with FACTS and created your username and password, you have the ability to view and update your payment plan online at the FACTS family portal.

From this site you can:
• Make up missed tuition payments
• Make a tuition payment in advance
• Add multiple payment methods to your online FACTS profile (i.e., credit card, bank account)
• Switch between payment methods throughout the year (credit card to bank account or vice versa)
• Maintain your demographic and financial account information
• Check your balance and payment history
• Change/update your financial account(s) information
• Make a payment online
• Update your profile information (Address, phone number, etc)
• View your complete history with FACTS
• You can print information for your records
• Verify changes made by the school

Can I change my payment method on my FACTS plan?

Yes, you may change your FACTS payment method. You have the ability to view and update your payment plan online at the FACTS family portal.

When is my payment due?

I can't log in to the FACTS website. What should I do?

When you enroll you will be asked to enter a student/family identifier. Please enter your son(s) last name as the identifier and your youngest son’s graduation year.

Deadline to enroll in
the FACTS program
May 1, 2012.

Please return the following by March 9, 2012:

  • Signed Enrollment Contracts (please remember to select a tuition payment plan)
  • Deposit
  • Information Form

Please note that each family must enroll in FACTS unless you pay 100% of the tuition directly to Gilman by July 31, 2012
