After completing her two-year Penn Fellowship, which earned her a Master of Education from the University of Pennsylvania, Jaakirah Reid continues her teaching, coaching, and advising activities in the Middle School at Gilman. She also oversees all Global Programs efforts across the Middle and Upper Schools.

She got her start in education by co-creating and acting as the program director at Young Scholars Charter School in Philadelphia and as a tutor at Waterville Junior High School. While at Colby College, where she graduated with a bachelor of science in educational studies and government and mathematics, Ms. Reid was involved in the student government and worked as the director of operations for the varsity women’s softball team.
