Q&A
What your your best teaching moment?
As an early childhood educator, a memorable moment of teaching in Gilman's Lower School occurs when I experience joy as I witness the 5th grade boys in the moving up ceremony and I know the extent of their growth and maturity over the years.
Why do you enjoy teaching at Gilman?
I enjoy teaching in early education because I desire to help the boys understand that they are students and to foster their curiosity to learn. Teaching inspires me as I believe the development of the body, mind, and spirit holds us up through our lives. Learning and character development in Gilman boys happens through interactions with others and through difficulty with tasks and challenges. I believe significant learning does not occur without significant relationships with teachers and I invest in and value my relationships with the Gilman boys.
