Erin Haney
M.A.T., Latin, University of Michigan
Erin Haney teaches Latin I and Latin II and coaches in the Upper School intramural program. In addition, she is involved in the Greyhound TV network that telecasts games. After completing a bachelor's degree in classics and ancient Mediterranean studies from Pennsylvania State University-Schreyer Honors College University Park, Ms. Haney completed a Masters of Arts in teaching in Latin with a teaching certification from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Michigan. She completed her student teaching in Dearborn, Michigan, where she taught Latin I and Latin II. In support of her classical studies, she has traveled extensively to Israel, Italy, and Greece.

Why do you enjoy teaching at Gilman?
I enjoy the level of energy and inquisitiveness the boys bring to the classroom
What inspired you to become a teacher?
When tutoring students, I learned that I really loved helping students make sense of concepts and material they didn't understand before. I also was inspired by the opportunity to share my passion for a less popular field.

I enjoy different crafts, embroidery and making clay earrings, as well as refinishing furniture.
