Q&A

Why do you enjoy teaching at Gilman?
I love teaching at Gilman because the support I have felt as a new teacher is unreal — I know that Gilman is the best place for me to grow professionally as a teacher. I love the energy that boys bring to the classroom each day.

What inspired you to become a teacher?
My very first job was a lifeguard/swim instructor position and from then on, almost every job I had included working with youth and teaching skills in some way, and it just continued, and after college, teaching felt like the obvious and natural path to take, and I feel strongly about that being the best choice for me.

What is your favorite spot on Gilman's campus?
My favorite spot on Gilman's campus is the faculty lounge — there's coffee and hot chocolate :), and there's also my colleagues who I don't see every day, and a quick chat with my peers who I don't often see brings a sense of community that I love being reminded of once in a while.
