Biography:

Joe Valentine-White joined Gilman in 2021-2022 as the Assistant Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity. Recently, he was Assistant Principal at Brooke High School in Boston. Prior to that position, he worked at KIPP Nashville Collegiate High School as Dean of Students, MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas as an English teacher. Mr. Valentine-White began his career in education as a Teach For America Corps Member at Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to being a Gilman alumnus, Class of 2007, he received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Kenyon College and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Michigan.

In 2022-2023, Mr. Valentine-White served as the Interim Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity. In 2024, he became the Director of the Finney-Greene program. In addition, his title changed from Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity, PK-8 to Associate Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity.
