Biography:

After starting his teaching career as an intern at Parkville Middle School and Eastern Vocational Technical High School, Rusty Kahl was the science department chair at Notre Dame Preparatory School where he taught a range of classes from AP physics to ecology and evolution. His interest in teaching science stemmed from his time as a project manager at ARCADIS U.S. in Millersville Maryland, a geologist for the Maryland Department of Environment, and a staff geologist for the URS Corp. Mr. Kahl is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College with a bachelor of arts in geosciences and a master in science in geosystems from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He holds a Maryland Department of Education education certificate in earth/space science and endorsements in physics and biology. Rusty runs and plays ultimate frisbee in his spare time and sometimes plays co-op online games with his son.
