Alleyne ("Allie") received a Bachelor of Arts in history from Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia. Upon graduating, she spent one year as a kindergarten fellow at Greenhill School in Addison, Texas, and since then has taught lower elementary classrooms at Arlington Christian School in Atlanta, Georgia, The Academy of Scholars also in Atlanta, and Cannon School in Charlotte, North Carolina. Most recently, Alleyne joins us from Norwood School in Bethesda, Maryland, where she taught second and third grades. In addition to teaching at Norwood, she was the yearbook chair for two years, and created the weekly lower school newsletter with more than 60 children during her tenure. In addition to her teaching experience, she is also certified in Orton-Gillingham and currently obtaining her Masters in Early Childhood Education. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, reading, horseback riding, archery, playing with her little Yorkie, Miko, and dining at fantastic restaurants with her family and friends.
