Patricia Franz attended MICA, where she studied Design and Visual Marketing. She also studied accounting at the Community College Baltimore County after assuming financial responsibilities in her role as vice president of John Franz, Jr. Furniture & Cabinetmaker, Inc. Prior to that she served as the human resources director for a large oil manufacturing company with gross sales over $100 million dollars. This was after acting as an employee relations director for a large multinational company with branches in the U.S., Canada, Brazil, and Saudi Arabia. Her professional development has included numerous workshops and conferences related to other topics: industrial safety/health, employee wellness, and administration/management.

What is your favorite spot on Gilman's campus?
One of my favorite spots on the Gilman campus is standing in the Gilman Room near sunrise looking out over the beautiful campus and watching the sun come up over the fields. Another is standing in front of Carey Hall and taking in the trees in full blossom in early spring.

People might not know…
I used to build parade floats for the Kingsville Pack 788 Boy Scouts for the Kingsville Fourth of July parade, a longstanding tradition in our community. I think our floats took first prize for five or six years in a row before I retired from that endeavor.
