Q&A
What is your favorite spot on Gilman's campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Lower School lobby on the last day of school before winter break. The entire school gathers in the lobby wearing their pajamas to sing winter holiday songs. It is magical and is one of my favorite Lower School traditions.
Why do you enjoy teaching at Gilman?
I love teaching at Gilman because I love maintaining relationships with students that I had as fourth or fifth graders as they continue into the MS and US. It is extremely fulfilling for me as an educator to continue to follow former student's success in academics, athletics, and in the arts. I love running into former students on campus and hearing how things are going.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I have always wanted to be a teacher. I remember playing school as a little girl and just knowing that I would be a teacher as an adult. I have always loved working with children and there is nothing more magical than being there when a student learns how to read or tackle a challenging math problem independently.
