Gilman School uses Ruvna, a secure communication and accountability platform, to help keep our community informed and safe during the school day.

Through Ruvna, administrators and faculty/staff can quickly account for students in real time during safety drills, emergencies, or other critical situations. The platform also allows the school to efficiently manage attendance and accountability when it matters most.

Parents and guardians may receive notifications through Ruvna for emergency alerts, school delays or closures, and other important school updates, ensuring clear and timely communication with families. Parents and students are automatically enrolled on Ruvna.

The safety and security of our community is a shared responsibility. To ensure a secure campus environment, all parents and visitors must follow the guidelines below. Because faculty and staff cannot personally recognize every individual, these procedures help us distinguish authorized visitors from those who should not be on campus.

All exterior doors remain secured during the school day. Visitors must enter through designated access points (Finney Hall, Carey Hall, or Callard Hall), ring the bell for entry, and immediately report to the reception or security desk upon arrival.

All visitors are required to present a valid government-issued photo ID. Once verified, visitors will be issued a sticker badge that must be worn visibly at all times while on campus. Visitors must remain in their approved area and may be required to be escorted by a Gilman employee during their visit.

Parents and guardians should not access classrooms, hallways, or other areas of campus without prior approval and proper check-in.

Parents who wish to volunteer on campus must complete the School’s volunteer process. Applications must be completed annually.
