Featured speakers Robyn Waxman, Ph.D. and Tanisha Drummond, Ph.D. will share with us about many aspects of student support, specifically on the following topics:
- How can parents better understand the process of early identification?
- What does a psycho-educational evaluation entail?
- How can parents support their boys who learn differently?

Dr. Robyn Waxman, Ph.D. is a licensed psychologist, in private practice in Towson for the last 20 years. Her work is uniquely informed by her background in both education and psychology. Dr. Waxman graduated from Vassar College with a degree in elementary education and then received her Ph.D. in clinical psychology at American University. Dr. Waxman completed a post-doctoral program in school-based mental health. She has served as a consultant for several schools in the Baltimore area. In her private practice, she provides therapy to children and teens (and parents) for anxiety and other issues. In addition to providing therapy and consultations, Dr. Waxman provides comprehensive evaluations for ADHD and learning disorders. She currently sits on the board of the Maryland Psychological Association and is the editor of their quarterly journal, “The Maryland Psychologist.”
Dr. Tanisha Drummond is a board-certified child and adolescent psychologist. After receiving her doctorate in psychology, Dr. Drummond completed a postdoctoral fellowship in trauma and maltreatment at the CARES Institute. Dr. Drummond has worked in various settings, which have helped her develop the knowledge and expertise of issues children, adolescents, and young adults often encounter. Dr. Drummond is the owner of E-S Consulting and Assessment, LLC, a private practice in Hunt Valley that specializes in assessment. Dr. Drummond supervises doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows and provides consultative services to schools, agencies, and other professionals. She is also one of the founders of the Multicultural Assessment Conference (MAC).
