Max Verheyen '19 Named In USA Swimming 2019 18 & Under World 100 list

USA Swimming's 2019 18 & Under World 100 list includes our very own, Max Verheyen '19!

This list reflects the top 100 swimmers in each discipline across the world, and it reflects the strength of the swimmers in this age group from across the United States relative to their international peers. Max, ranked 76th, was awarded this distinction for his time of 2:05.54 in the 200 Meter Individual Medley event while swimming for Eagles Swim Team in March 2019. From USA Swimming: “The 18 & Under World 100 List is a reflection of the strength of USA Swimming’s future,” USA Swimming Director of the National Junior Team Mitch Dalton said. “While the National Junior Team is determined based on an all-age world ranking, the World 100 offers an apples-to-apples comparison of how our developmental-aged athletes compare to their international peers.

The 18 & Under World 100 is a ranking of the best 18 & Under swimmers in the U.S., according to their 18 & Under, Age-Defined World Ranking according to USA Swimming. The goal of the program is to acknowledge the excellence achieved by our best 18 & Under athletes, their coaches who lead them and their clubs who support them."

In addition to the achievement above, Max's combined achievements in the pool and in the classroom his senior year earned him the Scholastic and High School All American recognition. During his great aquatics career at Gilman, Max achieved All American status in the 200 IM.
