Gilman’s Geography Champion Heads to State Bee

Arya Kazemnia ’24 has qualified to compete at the state level of the National Geographic Bee on Friday, April 6, 2018.

School Bees for fourth- through eighth-grade students were held in public and independent schools to determine each school champion. Champions then took a qualifying test. Up to 100 of the top-scoring students in each state, the District of Columbia, Department of Defense Dependents Schools, and U.S. territories have been invited to compete in the State Bees.

One champion from each state and territory will advance to the National Geographic BeeChampionship, which will be held May 20-23 at the National Geographic Society headquarters in Washington, D.C.
