After School Program (ASP)

• Monday–Friday
• 3:15–6 p.m.
• After School operates on all days that the School is in session, except days when the School is scheduled to dismiss at noon, or when there is an unscheduled early closing. After School does operate for contracted students on 2:00 p.m. dismissal days but drop-ins are not available.

Contracts are for the full year, but payments will be divided in thirds and applied to August, October, and February billing. Families can adjust a contract schedule or cancel up to two weeks in advance of an upcoming payment.

ASP Contract Options

ASP Drop-In Rate and Late Fees

• Drop-In Rate: $35 flat rate per day
• After 5 p.m. Contract Time Late Fee: $10
• After 6 p.m. Late Fee: $30 at 6:05 p.m. and $1/minute thereafter

If you would like your son to drop into After School, email notice to afterschoolprograms@gilman.edu, llongo@gilman.edu, and your son's homeroom teacher.

Please include your child's first and last name, homeroom, drop-in dates, and estimated pick-up time.

We know that ASP is a vital service for many Gilman families! Please note that ASP is at a high capacity, and drop-ins should be childcare need-based (not playdates). Students who are not picked up promptly at car line or a scheduled school activity's end time will be dropped into the After School Program (ASP) at the flat drop-in rate.

First Day

Grades 2–4 and MSAS: Wednesday, August 27, 2025 (grades PK-1 have noon dismissal)

Grades Pre-K–1: Tuesday, September 2, 2025

Early Pick-Ups

If your son is picked up earlier than is specified in your contract, you will still be charged according to the contracted time.

Contracted Days

Your contract is for the number of days used per week, regardless of the specific days used. However, it is helpful to know if there will be a change in routine.

Late Fees

If your son is picked up anytime after the 5 p.m. contract ends, a $10 late fee will be charged to your child's account. Students must be picked up by 6 p.m. After 6 p.m., late fees are strictly applied at a rate of $30 at 6:05 p.m. and $1/minute thereafter.

Financial Assistance

Financial assistance for this program is available and allocated in proportion to tuition assistance received.

Cancellations & Refunds

Registration fees are non-refundable. Cancellations on or after the date two weeks prior to each new trimester will not be refunded or prorated. The enrolled number of days expires each week; they do not roll into the following week. Unused days will not be refunded or prorated.

Behavior

Students who attend ASP must abide by the rules and regulations outlined in the Gilman Student/Parent Handbook for student conduct and behavior. Students must also continue to strive to be honorable and to exhibit the Gilman Five while at ASP. If a student exhibits a pattern of not displaying appropriate conduct and behavior, the School reserves the right to dismiss the student from the program.
