With proud families and coaches present, 19 senior scholar-athletes committed to college athletics for fall 2024 on the afternoon of Friday, March 1.
Fresh on the heels of an undefeated regular season and their 2023-2024 MIAA A Conference Dual Meet Championship win in early February, Gilman Wrestling ended its historic season on top as the champions of the 2024 MIAA Wrestling Tournament.
It was a historic day in the pool for the Gilman swim team on Saturday, February 3 at the MIAA Swimming Championships held at Loyola University. Six Gilman swim team records fell, and three All-American consideration times were achieved. Congratulations to all!
Jackson Heether '25 and Max Kunisaki '25 broke two of the oldest Gilman swim records at the meet against Calvert Hall on Thursday, January 25, which the team also collectively won. Heether broke the 50 free record, last set in 1999, and Kunisaki broke the 500 free record, last set in 1985.

Varsity came away with a 13-11 victory against Loyola. JV won 12-8 behind a complete team effort. Varsity Coach Vaughan Smith said, “I’m incredibly proud of our teams' efforts this year. This is the first time in program history that both varsity and JV had perfect seasons.”
On Thursday, October 19, the Gilman community celebrated the newest members of the Cum Laude Society for the 2023-2024 academic year.
Two seniors in the Biodome Club are cultivating their leadership skills — not to mention a sizable crop of kale and peas. Both students came onto campus over the summer to reorient the biodome that sits behind Gilman's athletic fields, and they have more plans for the club this school year.
Gilman's Varsity Water Polo team secured their spot as two-time champions at the 2023 Beast of the East Tournament, held at several schools within the Wilson School District in the Philadelphia area on September 22-23.
Gilman swimmers and water polo players participated in Swim Across America on Sunday, September 10 at Meadowbrook Pool. The students raised nearly $1,700 to donate to Johns Hopkins for cancer research and treatment.
