Nathaniel "Than'l" Badder '94 is Gilman's new director of alumni relations and outreach. In this role, he will work with the Alumni Association leadership to strengthen the ties that fellow alumni have with the school and to continue the growth of the Gilman alumni community.

"It's exciting to come back to Gilman," said Badder. "It's very different to be 'on the other side of the glass,' but I've found it comforting to find so many teachers, coaches, and classmates from my time here ready to greet me."

Alumni of his era may recognize the varsity basketball jacket he wears in this photo.

A graduate of Middlebury College (B.A.) and Elmira College (M.S.Ed.), Badder's professional career has included stints in California and New York at a financial software company, as a college lacrosse coach, and a high school athletic director. On returning to Baltimore in 2009, he served as the Director of National Teams at US Lacrosse. Most recently, Badder founded and ran a retail art business, 36 Letters, specializing in photo letter art using pictures of objects to spell out words and phrases.

An avid runner, traveler, writer, and photographer, Badder lives in Homeland with his dog, Earvin.
