Emala Named Gilman's Assistant Athletic Director

Following Lori Bristow's retirement, Bryn Holmes has been promoted to associate athletic director. Bryn has served for four years as the assistant athletic director, teaches math in the Middle School, and coaches the varsity wrestling team. Ned Emala ʼ13 has been named the assistant athletic director, replacing Bryn and completing the athletic department's leadership team.

Ned first joined the Gilman faculty in 2019 as a Foreman Fellow and currently teaches art history and world cultures in the Upper School, along with coaching varsity football, JV squash, and JV lacrosse. He played football, squash, and lacrosse at Gilman and played four years of football at Dickinson College. Following his graduation, Ned worked for several years in the commercial real estate industry.
