Seniors Bryan Dong and Jeffrey Li are National Merit Scholarship award winners. Each student will receive a scholarship of $2,500 for the college of their choice.
National Merit Scholars are an elite group. The National Merit Scholarship is one of the highest academic honors attainable by U.S. high school students. Of 1.6 million entrants, Bryan and Jeffrey are among 2,500 awardees that were chosen from 15,000 finalists. Winners are selected based on their abilities, skills, and accomplishments. Considerations include academic record, information about the school's curricula and grading system, two sets of test scores, the high school's written recommendation, information about the student's activities and leadership, and the finalist's own essay.
