Evans Inducted to National Wrestling Hall of Fame Posthumously

Legendary Governor's Academy Wrestling Coach George Heberton "Heb" Evans III '45 was inducted into the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Wrestling Hall of Fame at a ceremony at Gillette Stadium on November 13.
Heb joined the faculty at then-Governor Dummer Academy in 1949 and would remain there until 1985. During his tenure, he served as a math teacher, dorm parent, and head coach of both the wrestling and lacrosse teams, finding enormous success in both sports. He was previously inducted into the New England Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Heb passed away on February 12, 1985. Read the full story here.
