Newsome serves as the league’s chief security officer and oversees security for every major NBA event. In Chicago for the lottery, Newsome was responsible for securing and delivering the entire process, requiring a high level of integrity, supervision, and attention to detail. Newsome joined the NBA leadership team in 2021, having served with distinction as a U.S. Secret Service agent for 26 years, following standout scholar-athlete experiences at Princeton and Gilman.
