Last fall, Bill Buchanan made a solo pandemic trip to Squam Lake in New Hampshire, where he kayaked, enjoyed the solitude, and came within 30 feet of a bear. After two decades in New York City, Bill has now been in the Washington, D.C., area for 13 years.
