I just won re-election as Maryland State Senator. I won more than 34,000 votes, which sounds impressive until you realize that I was unopposed, so the only choice offered to the voters was to vote for me. This four-year term will be my last, and I am not coy about telling people that I will retire in 2026. Anne and I bought a great house in Rehoboth Beach last year, so I will not lack for recreational opportunities when I close up shop in Annapolis in 2026.
