Although he graduated a year ahead of me, I need to lament the sudden loss of Harry Lord. Harry was a good friend to many of us, and we maintained a friendship for over 70 years. Although a lot of it was long distance, we managed to keep in touch over Baltimore's premiere radio stations (WEEB, WSID, and Hot Ro’s Rocket Ship Show) and the Orioles. Harry and I sat in the left field bleachers and witnessed Brooks Robinson’s debut as an Oriole in a late 1955 game at Memorial Stadium. We were both cautiously optimistic about the O’s chances this year. I already miss sharing texts about the games.
