Middle School Squash in Nationals

Six very talented athletes represented Gilman in the U.S. Middle School Squash Nationals at Yale, finishing in fifth place out of 55 schools and playing some of the best teams in the country.

"Gilman’s team should be considered an elite program. We almost won the entire tournament and needed two points to win against Bronxville in the quarterfinals. We won 3 matches against Fessenden, Haverford (B) and Episcopal (consolation final)... Not bad for our first year!" said Charlie Fenwick '93. He arranged for the boys to have a short meeting with Dave Talbott, the well-known and highly regarded Yale men’s squash coach. The boys also toured the campus and dorms with a Yale student.
