Upper School students from Gilman and Bryn Mawr gathered together at Bryn Mawr's Carey Quad on Wednesday, October 26 in honor of Diwali. The joint event, planned by the Gilman South Asian Student Association and the Bryn Mawr South Asian Student Union, offered Indian food, henna, Bollywood music, and camaraderie for the group. The event ended with the lighting of diyas (lamps).

Diwali, India’ s most important holiday, is a five-day festival of lights that is often celebrated with feasts, lights, and gifts.
