Updated

In the recent First Lego League Challenge, the RocketHounds, Gilman’s 7/8 grade robotics team, won the Champion Award for Best Overall Performance. They scored highly in all categories and placed fifth in competition with 88 points, qualifying them to move on to the state level. The state championship will take place on February 23 at UMBC

WaffleTech, the sixth grade team, won the Core Values Award.  This is awarded to a team who demonstrates that they have connected with each other and are appreciative of all others who have helped them reach this point. They placed 12th of 19 teams with 35 points.

“The boys were everything you would hope; gracious, hardworking, and enthusiastic,” said Coach Lynn Nichols.
