A Thanksgiving Weekend Alumni Pick-up Game
A group of alumni representing the Gilman classes of 2018-2023 popped onto campus for an impromptu basketball game over Thanksgiving break. The amateur alumni ballers were welcomed by Head Varsity Basketball Coach and Upper School Math Faculty Will Bartz ʼ99, who was excited to have the boys back at Gilman and to report to the Alumni Relations Office the many activities and accomplishments of these phenomenal graduates since their time on Roland Avenue. In fact, on the court were four baseball athletes (Heubeck ʼ21, Leikus ʼ21, Rosenfield ʼ21, and Willis ʼ18) who played or are playing at the collegiate or minor league level; a collegiate football defensive back (Ehrlich ʼ17); a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the U.S. Navy (Madison ʼ18); a new New Yorker working in finance (Willis ʼ18); an engineering student (Marshall ʼ22); and two young men who just completed rushing a fraternity (Horensky ʼ23 and Frankovich ʼ23). A casual, good time was had by all, and we couldn’t be more proud of this group and their peers. Keep it up, “boys.” You’re always welcomed back.
