Brown '84 Named President of Biohabitats

Biohabitats, a pioneering ecological restoration company, recently named Ted Brown '84 as its new President. Brown will oversee a team of leaders responsible for projects, operations, culture, financial health, innovation, growth, and marketing. Biohabitats is an ecological planning, design, and construction firm that helps communities advance climate resiliency, biodiversity, and environmental justice by restoring ecosystems, conserving habitat, and regenerating life-sustaining natural systems.

Brown, a licensed water resources engineer with over 30 years of experience, joined Biohabitats in 2006 and most recently served as the lead of business development and as a practice leader for watershed and stormwater-related initiatives. His portfolio with Biohabitats includes watershed implementation planning for Montgomery County and several stormwater and ecological master planning efforts for the University of Virginia, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Rutgers University, and the University of Delaware. Before Biohabitats, Brown served as Director of Watershed Implementation at the Center for Watershed Protection, a nationally recognized nonprofit that develops innovative technical guidance for watershed assessment and management, stormwater management, regulatory compliance, and natural resource conservation.
