Bryant ’88 Appointed to Maryland State Board of Elections

Governor Wes Moore recently announced the appointment of Eric Bryant ’88 to the Maryland State Board of Elections.

Bryant most recently served as chief of staff to Congressman Kweisi Mfume (D-MD), following 17 years  three as senior associate and 14 as partner  with the Maryland-based law firm Rifkin Weiner Livingston LLC (RWL). Before joining RWL, Bryant served as Assistant Director of National Field Operations for the NAACP, working on various civil rights issues, including large-scale, non-partisan voter registration drives and voter re-enfranchisement efforts.

Bryant’s background, spanning government relations, civil rights, and election administration policy, will be of tremendous value to the board, as noted by Governor Moore in a press release: “Eric Bryant’s career has been defined by a deep understanding of the law and an unwavering commitment to the democratic process. He brings a rare perspective that combines technical legal expertise with a lifelong dedication to civil rights. Eric is the right public servant to ensure Maryland’s elections remain fair and free.”
