Gilman Receives Two 2024 International Marketing Awards
Gilman School is proud to announce that its Office of Marketing and Communications has received two 2024 InspirED School Marketers Brilliance Awards — an international competition that honors excellence in marketing and communications for private and independent schools — as recently announced by InspirED on Friday, January 10.
In the "Website Homepage (Enrollment 351 or More)" category, the office received a Gold award for the homepage of gilman.edu, designed in partnership with Finalsite. "The Gilman School homepage captivates with its sleek, visually balanced layout that showcases high-quality imagery of students in action, effectively communicating the school's offerings, environments, and culture. The bold use of color and parallax makes navigation intuitive, while the clear calls-to-action guide visitors to explore deeper," read one judge's comment.
In the "Fun Video" category, the office received a Bronze award for "A New Era for the Gilman Greyhound," completed in partnership with Isacson Studios and as part of a larger mascot overhaul and rebranding process. Of special note, two young alumni, Logan Haerian '24 and Jamie Howard '24, share in the "Fun Video" win with the office, having written the script for the video as part of their spring Senior Encounter experience (Howard went one step further by playing "Old Finney" over two days of filming in August).
"Gilman took something as simple as a mascot costume change and turned it into an engaging story. It was well-thought-out and humorous, keeping you engaged to the end. They subtly showed off their school, classes, and faculty in the process," read one judge's comment. "This was great! I almost started crying at the end. Well done, team! I appreciate the scripting and the evidence of planning," stated another.
"The video recognition is a testament to the team's creativity and hard work. Special thanks to our two alumni who, as seniors, contributed to the storyboarding process," said Stacy Hedeman, Director of Marketing and Communications. "It's inspiring to see such talent come together to reflect Gilman's values and history in such a compelling way."
Entries for the Brilliance Awards are evaluated by a volunteer panel of 72 marketing experts from across the globe, all of whom are professionals in private schools or businesses that focus on private school marketing. They were assessed on criteria such as originality, persuasiveness, copy/script/dialog, visual elements, execution, and overall appeal. InspirED School Marketers is a community that offers "brilliant ideas and brain food" for private school administrators globally. Learn more at inspiredsm.com.
