Teams of fifth through eighth grade students competed in the Battle of the Books against several area independent schools on Monday, May 1 and Tuesday, May 2, hosted at Beth Tfiloh.

Several Gilman teams claimed victory:

• Fifth grade teams placed first and second
• Sixth grade team placed first
• Seventh grade team placed first
• Eighth grade team placed fourth

Battle of the Books is a national reading incentive program for students in third through 12th grades. Students read books and come together to test their knowledge of the books they have read.
