Gilman senior Jay Wilkerson '24 was recently named Athlete of the Week by The Baltimore Sun for the week of April 1-7. Each week, the Sun "recognizes one high school player from a boy's sport and one from a girl's sport for their athletic achievements." Said the Sun in their coverage:

"The senior attackman totaled nine goals and four assists to lead the No. 10 Greyhounds (6-2) to two wins last week. In Tuesday's 15-8 win over Ohio power St. Ignatius, Wilkerson finished with four goals and two assists. On Friday, he had five goals and two assists as Gilman opened play in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association A Conference with a 25-7 win over John Carroll. A Providence commit and captain, Wilkerson has 22 goals and 16 assists on the season."

As referenced by the Sun, in November 2023, Wilkerson was one of ten students to commit to athletics at the collegiate level on Early Signing Day, officially signing to play lacrosse at Providence College in Rhode Island.
