June continued to be a banner month for Giman Athletics, with several members of the School's track and field team having a successful showing at the New Balance Outdoor Nationals in Philadelphia earlier this month.
Rising senior Jemmel Green '25 competed in the 800-meter Championship division and finished with a time of 1:56.06. Additionally, rising sophomores Marcus Turpin '27, Derrick Alexander '27, and Desmond Barkus '27 competed in several jump events. In the Freshman Triple Jump event, Marcus finished seventh place with a personal best leap of 43'11.75, the top triple jump among freshmen in the state of Maryland this season, and Desmond and Derrick ended their freshmen seasons ranked second and ninth, respectively, in the state.
Finally, rising freshman Moses Kim '28 made some School history as the first Middle School student to participate in the Nationals' Middle School division, running the 100- and 200-meter dashes.
Kudos to these students for representing the Blue and Gray well on the national stage!
