Beck Wittstadt '21, a junior on the Track and Field team at Duke University, recently broke the school's record in the 800-meter run, which had stood for 42 years. Wittstadt ran a time of 1:47.19 at the Wake Forest Invitational on Friday, April 19, overtaking the previous Blue Devil record of 1:47.38 set in 1982. The time was a new personal best for Wittstadt and met the minimum qualifying standard (1:47.50) for the 2024 Olympic Trials. Congratulations, Beck!
