Congratulations to Bennett Espenshade '24 for his first-place finish at the 2023 Middle Atlantic Amateur Championship held October 5-7 at River Bend Club in Great Falls, Virginia. Among an incredibly talented field, Bennett posted an impressive 67-66-73 to win and recorded 11 birdies, an eagle, and nine bogeys overall.

Espenshade is currently ranked 83rd on the American Junior Golf Association's Junior Golf Scoreboard, which determines rankings based on results from over 2,100 tournaments worldwide and ranks approximately 10,000 to 11,000 global players at any one time.

Now in its 117th year, the Mid Atlantic Amateur Championship is hosted by the Middle Atlantic Golf Association, one of the oldest amateur golf organizations in the country, "founded in 1902 for the purpose of promoting the game of golf, upholding the traditions and spirit of the game, and providing competitions for its members."
