Gathering Clothes for a Good Cause

After a day of closet cleaning, Arjun N. ’23 decided to put his family’s old coats and clothing to good use by holding a clothing drive for needy families. He put together a proposal that timed the drive to coincide with the Middle School’s Hoops for Habitat event. “It was an impressive plan, which considered both promotion and logistics. Arjun and the members of the Student Council who participated should be commended for their work,” said Director of Service Learning Donell Thompson. Although Hoops for Habitat was postponed due to weather, the drive went on as planned, and yielded more than 50 bags of gently used clothing for the Franciscan Center of Baltimore. They were particularly grateful to get youth clothing, which “goes very quickly” at the Center. Here are a few photos of the boys loading the van for delivery.
