They Came, They Saw, They Conquered

The Upper School Classics Club participated in the Maryland Junior Classical League State Convention over the weekend of April 29-30. The convention, held in Easton, Maryland, gives Latin students from across the state the opportunity to compete in various activities.

The Advanced Certamen team — including Jamie Howard '24, Gabriel Zerhouni '25, Mateo Garza '26, and Sloane Wehman '24 of Bryn Mawr — won its division in a quiz bowl-style competition that tested their understanding of Latin grammar, vocabulary, and literature. Jonathan Yu '26, along with Garza and Howard, received awards for various other creative and athletic endeavors. The students also enjoyed building camaraderie with other students studying Latin.

Congratulations, team!
