Gilman's Class of 2021 Moves to Upper School

On June 8, 2017 the 90 members of Gilman's Class of 2021 completed their time in the Middle School and were welcomed to the Upper School by Mr. Heubeck during closing exercises.

The class was recognized by Dr. Kwiterovich for their authenticity and wide range of talents, quoting Ralph Waldo Emerson and telling them "To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment."

Charlie Nuermberger, selected by faculty and administration, offered reflections on his Middle School experience. Librarian Maryann Wegloski spoke about "The Choices We Make." Max Ranney was acknowledged for performing 183 hours of community service. Eighteen students received the William S. Thomas Prize for outstanding scholarship and seven students were honored with the Colonel William Miller Memorial Awards for spirited participation, genuine cooperation and consistent effort in athletics.

Faculty recognized with awards included Don Abrams, Jillian Anthony, Kim Eddinger, Andre Jones, Rich Shock and Amy Summers.

Congratulations to all!
