Joe Valentine-White ’07 Returns to Gilman as the School's New Assistant Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity

Joe joins Gilman as the Assistant Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity. In this role, Joe will work in partnership with Director of Community, Inclusion, and Equity Johnnie Foreman to continue to develop and execute a comprehensive pre-k through grade 12 program that builds on the current strengths of the School’s inclusion and equity efforts.

Prior to returning to Gilman, Joe was Assistant Principal at Brooke High School in Boston. Before stepping into that role, he worked at KIPP Nashville Collegiate High School as Dean of Students, MacArthur High School in Irving, Texas as an English teacher.

Joe began his career in education as a Teach For America Corps Member at Polytechnic High School in Fort Worth, Texas. In addition to being a Gilman alumnus, Class of 2007, Joe received his Bachelor of Arts in English from Kenyon College and a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Policy from the University of Michigan.
