Mentoring Program Creates Baby Yoda Ornaments

“Truly wonderful, the mind of a child is.” That’s what Yoda tells us. At Gilman, we agree. To honor the wise, green alien species, the attendees at the Mentoring Program event created adorable Baby Yoda ornaments. The event was held on Sunday, December 12, led by guest instructor Meka Neal via Zoom.

“This was our first year doing a winter ornament decoration event with the Mentoring Program,” said its director, Chris Bendann ’03. “The boys had so much fun with the pumpkin event we decided to add a winter one as well.”

Baby Yoda was, as expected, a popular idea with the boys. “It was a lot of fun, and we appreciated the guest visits from [staff members] Paul Otto and Mee Wong.”

Gilman’s Mentoring Program aims to shepherd Lower and Middle School boys through their Gilman journey, offering them support and fellowship along the way, by pairing boys together in mentor-mentee teams. Mentors are Upper School students.
