Winter Swim

On a cold, rainy January day, more than 40 enthusiastic and energetic Upper School students (and science teacher Tim Lauer) plunged into the Chesapeake Bay for a good cause. The Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge takes place each year at Sandy Point State Park. Led by co-captains Taylor Classen ‘20, Cole Emry ‘21, and Tyler Martire ’20, the Gilman group raised $4,030 in support of Special Olympics athletes throughout Maryland. Parent Kerri Classen was on hand to document the day with these photos and this brief video.
