40th Reunion (Class of 1981)

Celebrating 40 Years

The Class of 1981 Remembers

In 1981, Lady Diana Spencer married Charles, Prince of Wales; the AIDS virus was identified; NASA launched the first Space Shuttle mission; Sandra Day O’Connor became the first female justice on the Supreme Court; “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” the first film to feature Indiana Jones, debuted in theaters; DeLorean produced the futuristic DMC-12 sports car; the first London Marathon was held in March; Ronald Reagan was sworn in as the 40th President of the United States; the Iran hostage crisis came to a close; Post It Notes were first launched by 3M Corp; MTV began broadcasting in the US; and the Gilman Class of 1981 proudly walked across the graduation stage.

Your Support Makes a Difference

We are grateful for the many alumni who continue to support Gilman, especially as needs mount during the lingering pandemic and shifting economic landscape. Gifts in honor of your reunion are making a meaningful difference, better positioning the School to ensure that each boy continues to have access to the same Gilman education that allowed you to grow in mind, body, and spirit. It's not too late to make a difference. Click here to give back, allowing a young man to follow in your footsteps or Venmo: @GilmanSchool

2021 Class Notes

During these uncertain times, Gilman continues to strive to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit of its students...and of its alumni. Now more than ever, we are excited to celebrate what inspires and connects us. We hope that you enjoyed this trip down memory lane and, despite the pandemic-driven social distancing and travel restrictions, are still able to share with us a story of an encounter with a classmate.
