George Hess '55, Alumnus and President of the Board (1990-1994)

George Hess '55 became Gilman's first Jewish student when he enrolled in 1947. As a student, he sang in the Glee Club and was a two-year varsity wrestler and lacrosse player. Hess began serving on the Board of Trustees in 1968, serving as treasurer from 1980 to 1985, vice president from 1985 to 1990, and president of the Board of Trustees from 1990 to 1994.
