NY Jets Brandon Copeland '09 and Baltimore Ravens Cyrus Jones '12 both held separate football clinics this summer on Gilman's campus.
Beyond the Basics hosted a free youth football camp in June with the mission of empowering "young individuals to maximize their potential by exposing them to enriching experiences, opportunities, and people." Campers also spent some of their time packing 1,000 bookbags and 1,000 hygiene kits for those in need.
Cy Jones Foundation hosted its 1st Annual FINAO Football camp at Gilman. FINAO, an acronym for "failure is not an option" spoke to the Baltimore Times about this opportunity to give back. "It's something I always wanted to do. I felt like this was the perfect time for it. Being back home, going into my fourth year has given me an opportunity to be in the community a lot more," Jones said about the camp.
The Gilman community congratulates Copeland and Jones for their amazing work on and off the field.
