Service. Partnership. Community.
The 2022 NFL schedule was released last Thursday, which reminds us of our Greyhounds who have gone on to play for the NFL. Some of these individuals are not only professionals on the field, but they have worked equally as hard (if not harder!) off the field to have community impact:
- Thomas Booker ’18 - Recently signed with the Houston Texans and credits his Gilman experience for helping him grow into a well-rounded, principled young man. This is evidenced by Booker’s selection as one of 13 finalists for the 2021 William V. Campbell Trophy®, college football’s premier scholar-athlete award that annually recognizes an individual as the absolute best in the nation for his combined academic success, football performance, and exemplary leadership.
- Micah Kiser ’13 won the prestigious Campbell Trophy in 2017.
- Brandon Copeland ’09 is a financial education consultant, real estate developer, and co-founder of a nonprofit organization, Beyond the Basics Inc., that focuses on youth empowerment. Copeland and Gilman are excited that the Beyond the Basics program will be back this summer (after a COVID hiatus) on Saturday, June 25.
- Victor Abiamiri '03 was recently profiled on PhiladelphiaEagles.com where he discussed his journey to the NFL, his transition from professional football to finance, and his desire to help people.
